The rules for using Despensa. Using the site means agreeing to them.

Your account

You need an email address you actually control, and you’re responsible for what happens under your account. You must be at least 13. Don’t impersonate someone else — particularly not a farm or a market.

What you post stays yours

Your photos, notes and comments belong to you. By posting them you give us permission to store and display them within Despensa, and to show them to whoever you’ve chosen to share that haul with. That permission ends when you delete the content, apart from backup copies that expire on their own.

Only upload photos you took or have the right to use, and please don’t photograph people who haven’t agreed to it.

How to behave here

Don’t use Despensa to:

• Harass anyone, or post anything hateful, threatening or obscene.
• Attack, disparage or spread false claims about a farm, a stall or a market.
• Post spam, advertising, or anything you were paid to post without saying so.
• Scrape, bulk-download or resell what’s here.
• Break the site, or try to reach data that isn’t yours.

Farm and market pages

Pages for markets, farms and stalls are shared reference records, built from what shoppers log. They aren’t owned by the person who created them. We may edit, merge or correct them to keep the catalogue accurate — farms are merged rather than deleted, so links keep working.

If you run a stall: claiming your page is free, permanently, and you can ask to be hidden from browsing and search at any time by emailing us.

Removing things

We can remove content or suspend an account that breaks these terms. Where it is reasonable to do so we’ll tell you why. You can delete your account whenever you like, from your settings or by emailing us.

The boring but necessary part

Despensa is provided as-is. We don’t guarantee it will be available, or that what’s in it is accurate — market days and hours change, and stall information is entered by shoppers rather than verified by us. Check before you travel.

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, and our total liability is limited to what you’ve paid us, which is currently nothing.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be emailed to account holders before taking effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute belongs in the courts of Los Angeles County.
